Titus

On one of his missionary journeys, the apostle Paul had planted a gospel-preaching church in the Greek island of Crete. He left his friend Titus on that one-hundred-mile-long, and one-hundred-city-strong island to “put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town” (Titus 1:5). Paul's instruction shows us what is to mark a healthy church. He says the bare necessities of faithfulness are sound leaders who can teach sound doctrine, which lead the congregation to sound living in Christ.
